Introduction

TavlaHub is a mobile application designed for families to access school information including fees, reports, announcements, and academic records. Parents and students can log in with their respective portal access. This privacy policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use the TavlaHub mobile app.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account or are invited to access the portal (parent or student access), we collect:

• Phone number (for authentication via SMS OTP)
• Name and contact information (as provided by your child's school)
• Relationship to student (parent, guardian, family member)
• Portal access permissions granted by the school

School Data Access

Through the app, you can view school information including:

• Student profile (name, class, admission details)
• Fee bills and payment history
• Report cards and academic records
• School announcements and communications
• Class schedule and attendance (if enabled by school)

Device Information

When you install and use the mobile app, we may collect:

• Device type and operating system (Android or iOS)
• App version and usage statistics
• IP address and network information

How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

• Authenticate your identity and provide secure access to school information
• Display fees, reports, announcements, and other school data relevant to your account (parent or student access)
• Process fee payments via integrated payment providers (Mobile Money, Paystack)
• Send SMS OTP codes for login verification
• Maintain and improve the app's functionality and user experience
• Comply with legal obligations and school policies

Payment Processing

When you make fee payments through the app, payment processing is handled by third-party providers:

• Mobile Money: Processed via your mobile network operator
• Paystack: Card payments processed via Paystack's secure payment gateway

TavlaHub does not store your full payment card details or Mobile Money PINs. Payment information is transmitted securely to the payment provider and processed according to their privacy policies.

Data Sharing

Your information is shared only with:

• Your child's school: School administrators and authorized staff can view your account details and payment history
• Payment providers: Payment transaction details are shared with Mobile Money operators and Paystack for processing
• SMS providers: Your phone number is shared with our SMS provider (via Supabase) for OTP delivery
• Service providers: Hosting (Vercel), database (Supabase), and infrastructure partners who help us operate the app

We do not sell your personal information to third parties.

Data Security

We implement appropriate security measures to protect your information:

• HTTPS encryption for all data transmission
• Secure authentication via SMS OTP
• Row-level security policies on our database
• Regular security audits and updates

Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access your personal information
• Request corrections to inaccurate data
• Request deletion of your account (see Account Deletion)
• Opt out of non-essential communications
• Contact your child's school to update portal access permissions

Children's Privacy

TavlaHub provides both parent and student portal access. Parent accounts are designed for adults (parents and guardians). Student accounts may be accessed by students aged 13 and older with school permission. Student information displayed in the app is provided by schools. School administrators manage student accounts. If you have concerns about student information displayed in the app, please contact the school directly.

Data Retention

We retain your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide services. When you delete your account, we remove your authentication credentials and portal access links. Historical payment and school records may be retained by the school for legal, financial, and record-keeping purposes.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
